Let’s see now…
Day 1: Copious amounts of travel and free wine on my international flight. Admittedly, I spontaneously booked the flight from LAX to Nairobi only 30 hours before it took off. I was certain I would be on some sort of terrorist watch list. But ahh, I made it to Kenya without a hitch.
Day 2: I play with monkeys in Nairobi City Park. One monkey bites me. I try to suck out the poisons just in case. I meet my great friends Maria and Aaron, both doing Peace Corps in Africa: Madagascar and Kenya respectively.
Day 3: Travel to Aaron’s village to see hippos in the wild and a really rad waterfall. I drink wine out of an old kerosene bottle by mistake. Once again, I’m mildly poisoned but still feeling alright!
Day 4: Bike riding at Hell’s Gate with zebras and giraffes, and more. Aaron gets spooked by a warthog and falls off his bike.
Day 5: House party and Paradise Hotdogs! Recover from house party and head to safari.
Day 6: Overnight safari. Saw so many animals! Stayed in a tent. Very small skinny local guy protected us from lions and other beasts of burden.
Day 7: Last day of safari, and heading back home alive and poison-free.
